Santiago Costa i Vaqué (1895-1984)
He was born in Mora de Ebro, and estudied in the Llotja School of Arts in Barcelona. Having moved to Madrid to preform his military duties, he shared his life with his couin Julio Antonio and, upon his death, he further moved to Brazil and Argentina, where he built the monument to Álvarez, the philantropist.
He exhibited in Madrid in 1925 at the National Library thanks to the support of Julio Antonio's mother and the scupltor Benlliure. He built a monument to Julio Antonio in Mora. There is also a monument by him in Madrid, dedicated to Santiago Costa, in the Villanueva Sq.


His work outstands through the motion it conveys. The human work together with the portrait are his main sources of inspiration, along with sports with which he deals with an innovative view.
